In the last few years, Culbertson has balanced a full-time job as a digital marketing manager while also crafting fairy tales for the series in her spare time. Having written her first three book manuscripts while she was still a student at USC, she has spent almost a decade working on The Crisanta Knight Series.
Culbertson, who was a public relations major with a triple minor in marketing, cinematic arts and critical approaches to leadership, features strong heroine leads in her series. The base concept of the series focuses on the children and siblings of famous fairy tale characters who live in a magical world called “Book,” where they train to be the main characters of future stories. But could I do that and save myself from succumbing to the disease ingrained in my magic? I didn't know. I wanted to save all the realms that needed me I wanted to save everyone. However, one problem remained: How could I unleash my magic to achieve our goals and defeat our enemies while keeping the power from corrupting me?įrom Merlin to the Fairy Godmother Supreme, everywhere I'd gone in recent days I'd been supplemented by powerful people who all thought they knew what I was capable of and how my morality should develop. My epic powers to give life and take it away were getting stronger and being heightened by the Vicennalia Aurora, so I had the ammunition to challenge every obstacle and villain that came our way. I guess that's what good friends are for. When I was back at Lady Agnue's School for Princesses & Other Female Protagonists, I used to wonder how I would make it through an entire day of classes, magic training, and homework.Īs the legendary magic flux known as the Vicennalia Aurora emerged, I wondered how I could possibly overthrow the evil king of Camelot, defeat Glinda in Oz, and get back in time to stop the antagonists from breaking out of Alderon and invading my world of Book- all in one day.
